Sears Silvertone Contemporary Console Stereo made in 1962.
The beautiful grain pattern of the Walnut veneers over a solid wood core make this a quality constructed piece of furniture. Except for a scratch on the top and slight surface scratches (pictured) and general wear over the years, it’s in very good shape for its vintage. However, this Hi-Fi needs a complete restoration to bring it back to almost like new condition. The radio works and the speaker on the left side. The turntable and right speaker are not currently functional.
The electronics include a 4-speed record player and an AM/FM Stereo Radio. An auxiliary input for an optional tape deck is also part of the circuitry. There’s even a headphone jack with control panel that allows switching the sound from the internal speakers, external speakers and headphones. All can be used at the same time or individually.
